If you’re in the Steele Creek area of Lake Wylie and want some good casual dining, try BT’s burgerjoint in Rivergate. Their specialty is shrimp fajitas.
April Fool’s! Burgers, fries, and good old fashioned milkshakes are the order of the day at BT’s, but I hope you figured that much. The menu does have a few alternatives – - chicken sandwiches, a few salads (including a Cheeseburger Salad, if that makes any sense at all!) and hot dogs.
On an evening like tonight, it’s warm enough to sit outside and enjoy the ambiance, at least as much ambiance as you’d expect in the parking lot of a shopping center. You know, people getting out of their cars, people getting in their cars, occasionally someone even opens a trunk.
And yet – - the burgers are quite delicious. You have your choice of cheeses, ranging from pimento to American to Pepper Jack to Blue Cheese. Toppings are fairly standard, including mushrooms, chili, onions, slaw, tomato, cajun spice (giddy-up), and a few others.
You have your choice of fresh cut fries or sweet potato fries (with drizzled honey butter, oh mama!).
Prices are higher than fast food, but lower than a sit-down restaurant – - about $5-$6 for the burgers, $2-$3 for fries, $3.50 for milkshakes (which only come in 20 oz, a bit large for my taste!). Kids meals ($5-$6) include burger, fries, drink AND a scoop of ice cream.
All in All – - a good value for a family or cheap date night. I’ll definitely go again!
